The Adventures of Tintin [Piscean Edits]

This archive item contains edited English versions of various The Adventures of Tintin albums. These edits were made by a Canadian zine group in order to downsize dated 1930s racial caricatures, while otherwise maintaining the original art style, humour, and tone of Hergé's works. According to the artist, there are no current plans to revise further albums.The following is a log by the artist of what was specifically edited in each book:The Blue Lotus: "Almost every single Japanese character
has been slightly altered, with the intention to remove the distracting
design choices but otherwise fit in with Hergé‘s art style. Snowy’s
bizarrely xenophobic remark has been changed to something much more
benign  which better fits with the flow of the page."The Broken Ear: "Literally the same album, but Tintin has a stewardess disguise instead of being in blackface."The Shooting Star: "Every instance of Mr. Bohwinkel’s face has been slightly altered, with
the intention to remove the distracting design choices but otherwise fit
in with Hergé‘s art style. I also fixed a single grammatical error
where he says, “Give it me” despite having no discernible accent before
that scene."
