The Unfinished Comic Book Project

The Unfinished Comic Book Project is the combination of a treatise on comic book story telling and a postmortem on an unfinished project. The storytelling aspect is intended to be useful for comic book readers so that they understand that comics are more than a series of attractive pictures with text. By providing a basic visual language, it is hoped that readers will become more visually literate and demand a higher quality of art in modern comics. The postmortem aspect is in regards to the comic book script that was written for this book and its use to detail various ideas about comic book writing. This is most useful for other writers rather than readers of comic books. Initially, the work was supposed to be a finished one-issue short story, but time was running out to finish the book. Because of this, the project was reconfigured as a discussion on visual storytelling and comic book writing. It is the author's hope that anyone interested in comic books and visual storytelling will find the work useful.
